OUR STORY · SINCE 2018

Our Story.

SANKI was never created to sell clothes. It was created to make people feel something — confidence, freedom, energy, individuality.

Delhi atelier Small-batch cuts Hand-stitched

Chapter 01

Why "Sanki"

In Hindi, sanki means a little crazy — the kind of person who follows their own path despite criticism. Every successful person is a little sanki. Every dreamer, every creator, every entrepreneur who refuses to quit. Every individual who builds something against the grain.

We named the brand after them. After you. The piece you're wearing is a personal flag — not a logo.

Chapter 02

The Atelier

A-3/226, Janakpuri, New Delhi — 110058. A 1,400 sq ft workshop where every Sanki garment is cut, sewn, finished, and quality-checked by hand.

No factory floors. No mass-production. Just a small team obsessed with weight, drape, and stitch density. The difference shows up the first time you put it on.

  • Heavyweight bio-washed cottons with substantial drape
  • Double-needle reinforced stitching
  • Pre-washed for zero shrinkage
  • Colour-fast premium dyes

Chapter 03

The Drops

We release in small cuts — usually 25 to 60 pieces. Each piece is numbered. Each design is rarely restocked. The drops sell through in days. Occasionally hours.

Scarcity is not a marketing tactic. It's the byproduct of making garments the way we do — slowly, by hand, in volumes a single atelier can sustain without compromise.

The Crazy Mind behind SANKI

SANKI was never created to sell clothes. It was created to make people feel something — confidence, freedom, energy, individuality.

The name

People often ask why "SANKI". In Hindi, sanki means "a little crazy" — the kind of person who follows their own path despite criticism. Every successful person is a little sanki. Every dreamer, every creator, every entrepreneur who refuses to quit, every individual who builds something against the grain.

About the Brand

What people ask us most

  • Who founded SANKI?
SANKI was founded by Gagan Lamba in 2018. The brand is based out of New Delhi with our flagship store at A-3/226 Janakpuri and a pan-India online store at sanki.online.
  • What does SANKI stand for?
SANKI is a Hindi slang word for 'crazy / unhinged in a creative way' — the full brand name is SANKI The Crazy Attire. The name captures the design philosophy: streetwear that's bold, irreverent, and unapologetically itself.
  • Where are SANKI clothes made?
Every SANKI piece is hand-cut and finished in our own Delhi atelier. We are the manufacturer — not a reseller or drop-shipper. This is why drops are limited: we make what we can hand-cut in a week, then move on to the next idea.
  • How often does SANKI drop new pieces?
Every Friday. A small batch lands on sanki.online plus our Janakpuri flagship at the same time. Once a size sells out it is rarely restocked. The Friday cadence is intentional — it keeps the catalogue fresh and rewards customers who follow our drops.
  • Is SANKI only menswear?
SANKI started as menswear-led and most of the catalogue is unisex / men's-fit oversized. Universal Sizing on most products supports M – 5XL (tops) and 28" – 42" (bottoms), making them friendly for all body types. Womenswear-specific pieces are introduced in select drops.
  • Why is SANKI considered premium streetwear?
Three reasons: (1) every piece is hand-cut in-house in Delhi, not mass-produced overseas; (2) we use heavy-weight fabrics and structured cuts that read luxury, not fast fashion; (3) drops are limited and rarely restocked — the catalogue is curated, not infinite.
  • Has SANKI been featured in media?
Founder Gagan Lamba has talked about SANKI in long-form interviews on YouTube and podcasts. Watch The Story of SANKI — The Crazy Attire for the founder's full take on streetwear, premium fits, and building a brand in Delhi.
