Universal Sizing at SANKI — one garment, seven sizes, honest fit

Every SANKI garment is offered in seven sizes — M through 5XL for tops, waist 28 through 40 for bottoms. Same physical pattern across the range, so the size you pick controls how the piece drapes, not how it's cut. Here's how it works, and how to pick right the first time.

Most streetwear brands sell you five sizes and call it inclusive. At SANKI, one garment comes in seven — and the size you pick doesn't just change measurements, it changes how the piece drapes on your body.

This is Universal Sizing. Here's what it actually means, why we do it, and how to pick the right size the first time.

Seven sizes per garment

Every SANKI top is offered in M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL, and 5XL. Every SANKI bottom is offered in waist sizes 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40.

That's a wider range than most streetwear brands stock. Almost every drop lands in all seven sizes on Friday. If the fabric permits, we cut more of the middle sizes (L, XL, XXL for tops; 32, 34 for bottoms) and slightly fewer of the extremes — but every size is available at drop time.

What "Universal" actually means

Here's the philosophical bit: the same physical pattern is cut across the size range. We don't design a "small M-cut" and a totally different "5XL-cut". We design one garment with intentional drape, then scale it across seven sizes.

The effect is that the fit reads differently on different bodies:

  • On someone who'd normally wear a slim medium — the SANKI M reads oversized. Boxy, dropped shoulder, structured.
  • On someone in the middle of the size range — it reads relaxed. Falls the way the photograph shows.
  • On someone at the larger end — it reads structured and honest. Not tight, not swimming in fabric — properly proportioned.

That's intentional. Streetwear at its best is about how a garment sits on a body, not about squeezing a body into a garment. Universal sizing lets one design serve all three effects without pretending they're the same.

How to pick your size — a straight answer

The honest version: size up if you're between sizes. If your everyday oversized tee is a Large, order a Large. If it's between L and XL, order the XL.

Three ways to be more precise:

  • Product page size guide. Every drop has measurements in inches — chest, length, shoulder for tops; waist and length for bottoms. Compare against a garment you already own.
  • The AI Fit tool. Answers three quick questions and gives a size recommendation. Trained on our own drops, not generic streetwear sizing.
  • Visit the flagship. A-3/226, Janakpuri, New Delhi 110058. Try the drop in person — same universal sizing on the floor as online.

Why we do this instead of standard S–XXL

Three reasons.

1. Bodies vary. Streetwear as a category has an honesty problem. Most brands run S–XXL, then add "oversized fit" as a hedge. In practice that means the XL fits like a slim-cut L on a bigger frame, and the customer either sizes up (nothing fits) or buys anyway and it looks wrong. We'd rather cut real sizes than fake ranges.

2. Drape is the brand. The whole point of SANKI is how a piece falls — how it drops off the shoulder, how it moves when you walk, how it sits when you stand. That drape is designed at cutting stage, not adjusted with a bigger belly panel or a lengthened sleeve. Universal sizing preserves the drape logic across the range.

3. It changes shopping. When you know a brand actually makes your size — not "up to L for slim guys, then technically an XL" — you buy differently. You order for the fit, not the availability. Universal sizing removes the "do they even make my size?" question from the top of the buying flow.

What Universal Sizing is not

A few common misreads worth clearing up.

  • It's not one-size-fits-all. The size on the tag matters. A 5XL is genuinely bigger than an M — the pattern scales, drape logic stays constant.
  • It's not stretchy fabric doing the work. We use heavyweight cotton with substantial drape. The fit is designed into the cut, not into the elastic.
  • It's not a size chart with vanity numbers. M means M. Waist 32 means 32. We don't pad the measurements to make customers feel smaller.

The short version

Seven sizes per garment. Tops M–5XL. Bottoms waist 28–40. Same physical pattern, scaled honestly across the range. Size up if between. Try the AI Fit tool if you're new. Visit the Janakpuri flagship if you want to feel it in person.

Drape is the brand. Universal sizing is how we protect it across everyone who wants to wear it.
